Hi, I’m Lauren, but you can call me LC.
My life has been intertwined with nature since I was a toddler digging for snails in my grandmother’s garden.
I’ve always preferred to be outside. I’m a mountain biker, surfer, skier, and photographer.
I’m a creature made by discipline and rigor, sometimes to a fault. Art is how I soften. It’s my mechanism for practicing awe and curiosity in the wilderness where I find myself faced with difficult challenge. It’s how I remember to ease into struggle, find playfulness in work, and see light in darkness.
I’m an animal lover, living close to other species most of my life, from my own cats to the backyard deer and every walk of life in-between. I see the world through the lens of being one of many living things on the planet, where I’m no more deserving of its resources than any other animal. I know intimately the patient power of the natural world and respect its cooperative structure.
As a human animal, I recognize the uniqueness of my ability to contemplate and think deeply about life’s big questions. I’m curious about most things and believe with enough energy spent at the right times, anything is possible to learn.
I hope to remain fortunate enough to continue exploring the earth and its many curiosities for the rest of my life, and maybe leave behind a few unique perspectives developed in that process along the way.
Thank you for your message.
