The title Forest Circuits is a play on words, combining the connective nature of fungi and their importance for communication between trees in woodland areas, and the wires used to power the electric pedal-assist motor on my mountain bike. Both circuits serve a life-sustaining power, in both a literal and figurative sense.

February in the southern Serengeti marks the short rainy season, a time of renewal and regeneration for thousands of wildebeest. The herds migrate into the short grass plains, seeking safety for their young from lurking predators. Newborn calves take their first steps within minutes of birth, making a sense of urgency woven into their existence. Survival and sacrifice dictate the pace of life, stretching to the horizon, where the earth and sky become one continuous plane like the sea.
Serengeti is a 250mm by 353mm book attempting to capture the restlessness I felt traveling through the land of movement and bright sun.
